 UPDATES:

HONOR FLIGHT!!

Proud to be a part of this! Twilight Wish Foundation is a sponsor with Honor Flight now and will have our logo on the trailer that is going to Iowa for this event! Good luck everyone and Yeah for our WWII veterans!

TRAILOR

The group has chartered a USAir flight to accommodate 75 veterans from the Tucson area, including 13 from Green Valley and Sahuarita.

Gregory gets his Bike Wish!!!

Gregory Neas: He was a Rn and a veteran of the Army. He has a beat up car
and really wanted to get exercise and take little trips about town so he
really wanted a bike and a bike lock. Rose told him that we were just
going to interview him that day then we surprised him with the bike and lock
that I got him. It was the best thing ever to him. He was very teary eyed
and thrilled about the color of the bike and the great fit. I was so
excited doing this wish as I am a cyclist. I got him the biggest bike you
can get a 29 inch blue mountain bike as he was a 6'2 man.

Meet Doris. She is a sweet lil lady who wishes to go to Kentucky for a reunion this August. We are very excited to make this wish come true for a very deserving senior in our community!!!

-BED WISH: TWF grated a request for a new bed.. she is now having sweet dreams !!!

-We granted a well deserving Veteran and RN a wish for a new bicycle. Now he can ride around town, save some gas and get some exercise !!

-AARP was gracious enough to donate for an  Ice Cream Social at Devon Gables earlier this month. It was a BIG HIT!!

We are very excited to share with you updates on Miss. Char's wish. She is having an amazing time in Iowa right now with her precious grandchildren and family. Thank you for all of your support!!! Without kind folks like you, we would not be able to put so many smiles on peoples faces

Arnold Hall....a 70 year old Veteran!! Thank you for your service Mr. Hall! His only wish was to be reunited with this truck! I am honored to have made this wish come true!

NEW WISHES:

WE HAVE A NEW WISH FOR A FAMILY REUNION TO CHICAGO IN MAY. MORE DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED SOON. IF ANYONE HAS ANY AIRLINE CONTACT PLEASE LET US KNOW.

THE GIFT OF HEARING:

JUAN A, 80, A RESIDENT OF TUCSON HAD HIS WISH FOR A NEW HEARING AID GRANTED. THANKS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA HEARING CLINIC AND THE ARIZONA CHAPTER OF TWILIGHT WISH FOUNDATION. JUAN WORKED HARD THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE AS A FARMER, IN CONSTRUCTION, AS LETTUCE PICKER AND IN A PACKING COMPANY. ALTHOUGH JUAN LOST HIS RIGHT HAND IN AN ACCIDENT WORKING FOR THE PACKING COMPANY IN 1989, HE STILL PLAYS THE GUITAR AND SINGS AND PLAYS FOR HIS CHURCH. HIS INSURANCE DID NOT COVER THE COST OF THE HEARING AID AND JUAN COULD NOT AFFORD IT ON HIS LIMITED INCOME. HE STRUGGLED TO TAKE PART IN CONVERSATIONS AND WISHED VERY MUCH TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THE VOICES OF HIS 29 GRANDCHILDREN AND SEVEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN. HIS WISH CAME TRUE ON FEBRUARY 12, 2013 WHEN HE RECEIVED HIS NEW HEARING AID!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF RITA MARTIN:

RITA WAS SADLY DIAGNOSED WITH TERMINAL CANCER THIS PAST JUNE. THE DOCTORS CALLED HER SON AND TOLD HIM SHE ONLY HAD A FEW DAYS TO LIVE, SO WHEN HE CAME TO TUCSON HE CLEARED OUT HER APARTMENT AND GAVE ALL OF HER POSSESSIONS AWAY. RITA WISHED FOR A RECLINER, FLOOR LAMP AND CURLERS FOR HER HAIR. THROUGH THE PARTNERSHIP AND GENEROUS HELP OF DESERT SKIES METHODIST CHURCH AND TONI MILLER, HER WISHES WERE MADE POSSIBLE.

UNFORTUNATELY, RITA LOST HER BATTLE WITH CANCER THIS PAST JANUARY AND SHE NOW JOINS MANY OTHER TWF ANGELS WHO WATCH OVER US AND HELP US CONTINUE THIS GREAT WORK.

LOVING HANDS

- HAPPY BIRTHDAY Fina !!!! Our oldest volunteer turned 101 this year. We hosted a lunch at her favorite restaurant Red Lobster. Now if she would only tell us her secret to a long life :)

Have you met Twilight Wish Foundation's oldest member? Let me introduce her. Her name is Fina Arguelles and she is turning 100 in Aug. and was honored by PCOA & TMC @THE CENTENARIANS  25TH LUNCHEON MAY 4TH 2011.She is a very active member. She knits and crochets (by feel only as she has macular degeneration and cannot see much at all) for TWF. She makes lap robes and scarves which are given to the people to whom we grant wishes.

Fina needs more yarn. She makes so many things for donation that she has run out of yarn...AGAIN!!! She has been buying yarn with her own money and then giving the final product to TWF. Might you have any yarn to donate to Fina? Would you like to donate money to buy yarn? If so, please email Lisa at   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thank you so much in advance for your help!
